摘要: Abstract Previous theory is extended by including the temperature dependence and image force correction a careful consideration of electron energy ranges which give main contribution to tunnel current. The effects on volt-current characteristic non-parabolic momentum relation in insulator, conduction-band-edge effective mass insulator differs from that outer metal layers, have both been derived. published experimental current voltage temperature, for Al-Al2O3-Al sandwiches, reasonable agreement with if about quarter free metal-insulator work function, 48 A thick film, 1.1 eV. Contrary previous theory, it predicted deviations (by five per cent) zero bias ohmic resistance will occur temperatures excess 150°K voltages 0.1 V.
