摘要: This paper analyzes the effects of community characteristics on compliance levels— emissions relative to effluent limits—at polluting facilities. In particular, it examines both direct and indirect effects; second type represents linking two related effects: (1) regulatory decisions intervene against specific facilities with inspections penalties; (2) interventions facility levels. Estimation reveals significantly affect performance; are generally comparable in magnitude; (3) total economically meaningful.
