摘要: Blue-light reception plays a pivotal role for algae to adapt changing environmental conditions. In this review we summarize the current structural and mechanistic knowledge about flavin-dependent algal photoreceptors. We especially focus on cryptochrome aureochrome type photoreceptors in context of their evolutionary divergence. Despite similar photochemical characteristics orthologous from higher plants animals blue-light have developed set unique features that are summarized below.
