摘要: Every year thousands of miles low standard roads are constructed in the world. Many these, including most those for U.S. Forest Service northwestern United States located steep and frequently unstable mountainous terrain. There is a great need earth retaining structures which inexpensive, flexible, convenient to build at remote sites. Development fabric retained wall concept shows promise as one solution this problem. Fabric walls consist horizontal sheets layered compacted backfill soil. This provides stability soil mass. Each sheet folded up over edge covering layer over-lapped by next higher retain face. paper reports model studies Oregon State University sponsored Crown Zellerbach describes design construction full size test Siskiyou National Forest. These tests demonstrate feasibility justify further development method construction.
