摘要: Disclosed are stable, aqueous colloidal silicas having surface area of greater than 700m2/g and S-values from 20-50. These do not require treatment with a treating agent such as aluminium to achieve stability. silica aquasols can be produced stored at concentrations 7 percent by weight SiO?2? solids, even high 15 solids or higher, remain stable room temperature for least 30 days. sols useful drainage retention agents in papermaking processes. Also disclosed processes making o f the invention employing sols.
