摘要: The impact of oral treatment with insulin on disease development was studied in diabetes prone BB rats. Because the positive outcome a prior study non obese diabetic (NOD) mice, rats received combination bacterial adjuvant. Porcine given orally twice weekly from 35–100 days age, E. coli preparation OM-89 fed alternate days. Other groups vehicle, adjuvant, or alone. Both containing dosing regimens induced transient significant delay onset. Insulin alone, however did not decrease final incidence. Oral plus adjuvant caused exacerbation as judged decreased survival rate comparison treated group (p < 0.05). Intra-islet infiltration also increased 0.005) compared vehicle groups. effect correlated enhanced interferon gamma (IFNγ) and interleukin 10 (IL-10) gene expression gut suggesting shift towards proinflammatory T helper 1 (Th1) reactivity 0.01). Although alone degree insulitis, an incidence cytokine only seen receiving Taken together, data suggest that may alter immunoregulatory state such promoting rather than protective immune responses are induced.
