摘要: Hospital charges and long-term (2 yr) survival were evaluated for 558 ICU 124 non-ICU patients from a large community hospital. Although the represented only 9.5% of total hospital admissions, they incurred nearly 30% had median charge greater than four times comparison group. For patients, overall in-hospital mortality rate was 17.3% 2-yr 35.6%, whereas group rates 3.4 14.8% respectively. Given patient discharged alive hospital, proportion surviving an additional 2 yr strikingly similar two groups (83.3% 89.1% patients). Because excess not significantly outlook after receiving intensive care is as bleak generally assumed.
