摘要: Objective To evaluate proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy for detection and monitoring of upper motoneuron degeneration in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Methods Seventy sclerosis according to the El Escorial criteria were compared 48 healthy control subjects. Single-volume (echo time, 272 milliseconds; repetition 2000 milliseconds) was performed both motor cortices ofN-acetylaspartate (NAA), phosphocreatine + creatine ([P]Cr), choline-containing compounds (Cho) calculate metabolite ratios NAA/Cho, NAA/(P)Cr, Cho/(P)Cr. In addition, absolute concentrations NAA, (P)Cr, Cho obtained 30 15 controls unsuppressed water signal used as an internal reference. Results Absolute NAA (P Conclusions Measurement NAA/Cho appear be most suitable cortex by single-volume spectroscopy. Reduced correspond aspects clinical presentation reflect disease progression follow-up measurements.
