摘要: When subjected to nitrogen limitation, the wood-degrading fungus Phanerochaete chrysosporium produces two groups of secondary metabolic, extracellular isoenzymes that depolymerize lignin in wood: peroxidases and manganese peroxidases. We have shown earlier turnover activity be due part proteolytic activity. This paper reports electrophoretic characterization sets acidic proteases produced by submerged cultures P. chrysosporium. The protease seen on day 2 incubation, during primary growth when levels are not known limiting, consisted at least six bands ranging size from 82 22 kDa. this was strongly reduced presence SDS. Following 2, become limiting ligninolytic, main (secondary protease) a major band 76 kDa minor 25 activities were inhibited phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride pepstatin A, respectively. grown excess (non-ligninolytic condition), remained principal throughout culture period. These results identify characterize specific associated with conditions promote degradation.
