摘要: A new type of underwater activity is reported for water striders. The response activated by low temperatures and has been observed in four species Gerris the field. We argue that adaptive significance behavior involves increasing rate gonad development overwintered adults. Other subsurface behaviors recorded are reviewed briefly discussed.
