摘要: Daughter-strand gaps in deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) synthesized after exposure of excision-deficient Escherichia coli to ultraviolet light are filled during subsequent incubation buffer, and the rate filling is increased when buffer carried out presence 360-nm light. It concluded that daughter-strand discontinuities prevented from being rapidly sealed dark not because some structural feature but a pyrimidine dimer on opposite (parental) strand. "Photoreactivation-stimulated gap filling" dependent polA(+) recA(+) exrA(+) genes. suggested removal allows gap-filling by DNA polymerase I polynucleotide ligase. The gene may be needed at very early stage, possibly for stabilization.
