Computations of steady-state and transient premixed turbulent flames using pdf methods

摘要: Premixed propagating turbulent flames are modeled using a one-point, single time, joint velocity-composition probability density function (pdf) closure. The pdf evolution equation is solved Monte Carlo method. unclosed terms in the modified version of binomial Langevin model for scalar mixing Valino and Dopazo, Haworth Pope (HP) Lagrangian Speziale-Sarkar-Gatski (LSSG) models viscous dissipation velocity fluctuating pressure gradient. source presumed one-step chemical reaction extracted from rate fuel consumption laminar premixed hydrocarbon flames, computed detailed kinetic mechanism. Steady-state transient solutions obtained planar methane-air propane-air flames. solution method features coupling with Finite Volume (FV) code to obtain mean field. results compared burning measurements Abdel-Gayed et al. freely by Videto Santavicca. effects different upstream turbulence fields, (different fuels strained/unstrained flames) influence statistics (HP LSSG) assessed.
