Psychological prognosis after newly diagnosed chronic conditions: socio-demographic and clinical correlates.

摘要: Background: This study was aimed toward discerning depressive symptom trajectories associated with different chronic conditions and finding modifiable factors those trajectories. Methods: Data were drawn from the 1996–2007 Taiwan Longitudinal Study on Aging. Nine selected, mood measured Center of Epidemiological Studies-Depression scale. Results: Among nine we examined, four patterns identified: (1) elevated symptoms worsened over time after diagnosed heart disease ( n = 681), arthritis 850), or hypertension 1,207); (2) without worsening stroke 160), lung diseases 432), gastric 691), liver 234); (3) no diagnosis but an increase in for participants diabetes 499); (4) significant cancer 57).
