摘要: Simkania negevensis is a novel Chlamydia-related bacterium and the founding member of Simkaniaceae family within Chlamydiales order. Little known about biology pathogenesis this bacterium. So far, S. has been considered as an amoebal symbiont, but its natural host remains unknown. Moreover, evidence human exposition reported worldwide association with pneumonia bronchiolitis suspected. Here, we evaluated ability to replicate in potential environmental reservoirs, namely amoebae arthropods, well mammalian cells (Vero cells, pneumocytes endometrial cells) further characteristics replicative vacuole. We demonstrated that efficiently replicates all cell lines tested, shortest doubling time increased adhesion observed pneumocytes. Our work highlights specificities Simkania-containing vacuole compared other Chlamydiales; contrarily Chlamydia trachomatis, does not disrupt Golgi apparatus. Importantly, our suggests infection associated few cytopathic effects might persist for prolonged infected cells. Further evaluation implication diseases required; chronic or subacute respiratory infections be
