摘要: Two principal mechanisms that may be responsible for mass loss from red giants are considered: shock wave-driven winds and radiatively (dust)-driven winds: Effect of the periodic shacks accompanying nonlinear oscillations is most prominent in outer layers stellar atmosphere where shocks able not only to expel gas but also increase density so some molecular components become supersaturated. In O-rich stars abundant condensable species silicon monoxide iron, whereas C-rich these carbon, carbide iron.
