Epilepsy in children in Navarre, Spain: epileptic seizure types and epileptic syndromes.

摘要: Data for children 1 month to 15 years of age at the time diagnosis epilepsy were recorded from children's hospital "Virgen del Camino" in Pamplona (Spain) January December 2005. International League Against Epilepsy criteria used diagnoses. A total 365 recruited into study. Mean was 5.97 years, and follow-up 4.6 years. Etiology idiopathic 166 (45.5%), cryptogenic 106 (29.0%), symptomatic 93 (25.5%). Focal seizures seen 52.9% patients, generalized 43.5%, 3.6% not determined. In infants, West syndrome (34.1%) focal (24.4%) most prevalent syndromes. early childhood, main syndromes epilepsies (17.7%) Doose (12.8%). school-aged children, benign (27.3%) absences (24.5%) prevalent. adolescents, (26.6%) (23.4%).
