摘要: This chapter discusses four main types of explanations or theories deviant behavior. These types—social integration, cultural support, social disorganization and conflict, societal reaction—are used throughout the book to analyze various forms deviance. The chapters that follow clarify why given explanation are not especially useful in understanding a specific form How certain these can be modified extended explain deviance more fully is discussed. Further, there emphasis on how some instances combined synthesized increase their explanatory power.
