摘要: A biogeochemical model has been previously developed that explains the inverse and nonlinear relationship between Po-210 concentration in zooplankton their biomass, under oligotrophic conditions French Polynesia. In this study structure was reviewed to determine a set of behaviors Po-210, proposed be critical its environmental enhancement oligotrophy: then used identify 25 other elements with comparable Po-210. Field investigation Timor Sea showed four these priori identified elements, viz. Cd, Co, Pb, Mn as well Cr Ni, elevated water concentrations reduced particle removal rates euphotic zone, results are consistent those obtained for explanatory model. These findings point enhanced susceptibility contamination particle-reactive marine systems, whose degree geographic extent may by projected increases sea surface temperatures from global warming.
