摘要: The acid autoactivated iodate–sulfite redox reaction (Landolt reaction) exhibits bistability but no oscillatory dynamics when operated in a continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR). However, it has been previously found experimentally that this can exhibit both spatial and oscillations carried out one side diffusely fed reactor. precise origin of the instability remained mainly elusive. We unambiguously show, numerical simulations based kinetic model recently proposed by Cseko et al., J. Phys. Chem., 2008, 112, 5954), observed are due to faster diffusion proton relative other feed species (long range activation instability). Furthermore, our calculations account for previous experimental observation two different modes. first is associated localized front oscillations, as already reported another reaction. periodic switch between states affects system whole. This mode was undocumented studies long instabilities. More complex dynamical behaviors mix these types also reported.
