摘要: Although elevation of the upper limb is considered valuable for prevention and reduction swelling following major surgery or severe injuries to hand, it not clear how much elevation, if any, required minor such as carpal tunnel decompression. We investigated this by randomizing patients undergoing decompression into two groups – one having high at home being treated with a simple sling. Volumetric analysis hand 5 days postoperatively showed no significant difference between groups. In trial group, mean increase in volume operated was 11 ml (95% CI +4 +17) 2.7%. control 13 +21) 3.6%. The findings study do support use routine arm day-case hand.
