摘要: Objectives : The aim of this study was to evaluate the distribution Staphylococcus species in bloodstream infections and assess their susceptibility methicillin. Material Methods: Between January 1 st 2008 - December 31 2010, 7424 blood culture sets were submitted Laboratory Department Hospital for Clinical Infectious Diseases Cluj-Napoca, Romania. cultures performed using BacT/Alert until 2010 3D automated system (bioMerieux) after that date. bottles incubated at 37°C a continuously monitoring up 7 days. strain identifications by conventional methods, ApiStaph galleries and  Vitek 2 Compact system. Susceptibility methicillin determined disk diffusion method with cefoxitin Results: From total number cultures, 568 positive species. 168 bacteriemic episodes 103 aureus . Among 65 coagulase-negative staphylococci isolates, epidermidis most frequently isolated (34), followed hominis (15), haemolyticus (8), saprophyticus (3), cohnii (1), auricularis 3 strains not identified level. Methicillin resistance encountered 53.40% 80% staphylococci. Conclusions: An important percentage contaminated main true bacteriemia cases methicillin-resistance, proved be high only but also
