摘要: With the growing grey seal population in Baltic Sea, inshore cod fishery has suffered dramatic increases both catch losses and damage to fishing gear. To mitigate this situation, pots were evaluated as an alternative traditional gillnets longlines. During a 3-year study, used by commercial fishers two areas off coast of Sweden. Using data from we catches relation other gear types investigated effects environmental fisheries-related variables such depth soak time. The comparison with showed that, during first half year, pot generated lower daily than gillnet longline fisheries at comparable efforts. second exceeded or equal those fisheries. generalized additive models evaluate impact on catches, areas, per unit effort (cpue) legal-sized was affected water depth, time year (months), In one cpue also direction current orientation string pots. undersized topographic slope complexity bottom, addition month results study indicate that can be useful fishery, least part year. By using our information how are variables, may further optimized increase catches.
