摘要: Ultrasmall superparamagnetic iron oxide (USPIO) contrast agents for use in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are currently undergoing clinical evaluation. However, the images observed and kinetic profiles obtained differ from one agent to another. In this study, BD IX rats received an intravenous penis injection of USPIO AMI-HS AMI-227. A cytologic study liver was performed, data were compared with those MRI. Images acquired light microscopy, transmission electron microanalysis diffraction provided on cell categories involved processing these agents, importance modalities each category relative processing, elimination. rapidly removed bloodstream by Kupffer's cells hepatocytes then eliminated through bile ducts. AMI-227 remained much longer blood compartment since it processed very slowly endothelial Kuppfer's near absence hepatocytic participation thus elimination These results allowed us base our interpretation MRI sequences observations.
