摘要: The recent development of inexpensive, compact hyperspectral transmissometers broadens the research capabilities oceanographic applications. These developments have been achieved by incorporating technologies such as micro-spectrometers detectors well light emitting diodes (LEDs) sources. In this study, we evaluate performance new commercial LED-based transmissometer VIPER (TriOS GmbH, Rastede, Germany), which combines different LEDs to emulate visible spectrum, aiming at determination attenuation coefficients in coastal environments. For purpose, experimental uncertainties related instrument stability, effect ambient and derived temperature, salinity correction factors are analyzed. Our results identify some issues thermal management contamination light. Furthermore, is validated against other through simultaneous field measurements. It demonstrated that provides a cost-effective alternative for beam measurements waters, but it requires consideration several optimizations.
