摘要: Youth sport has been advocated as a vehicle through which more physically active lifestyles can be encouraged among children and adolescents. Employing objective assessments of physical activity (PA), the purpose this thesis was to investigate value youth context for PA promotion obesity prevention. Results from Study 1 indicated 37% football participants did not meet recommended levels moderate-to-vigorous (MVPA) during their engagement. 2 demonstrated negative associations between daily grassroots footballers linked health outcomes, with reverse true sedentary time (ST). Guided by self-determination theory (Deci & Ryan, 1987), findings Studies 3 4 revealed perceptions coach provided autonomy support were positively associated related autonomous motivation, in turn, higher MVPA participation (daily well accrued sport) lower ST. This underlines setting increased, ST reduced youth. Research described within also points important role coach-created environment player motivation predicting variability engagement young footballers.
