摘要: We have to move the housing conversation beyond a game of political football about negative-gearing winners and losers. Australia needs bipartisan, long-term, policy. Why? Because we slow-burn, deepening crisis that is affecting Australians who are already highly vulnerable disadvantaged. They include: 206,000 households on waiting list for social housing; 46% those with greatest wait two years or more; 105,000 were designated homeless in 2011 Census. The UN Rapporteur Human Rights, following visit 2007, concluded was failing deliver fundamental human right adequate because lack any co-ordinated national strategy. Nothing has changed since 2007.
