摘要: BACKGROUND: Adjudication of disability claims related to fibromyalgia (FM) syndrome can be a challenging and complex process. A commentary published in the current issue Pain Research & Management makes suggestions for improvement. The authors contend that: previously currently used criteria diagnosis FM are irrelevant clinical practice; opinions family physicians should supersede those experts; there is little evidence that trauma cause FM; no formal instruments necessary assess disability; many patients on or applying exaggerating malingering, tests symptoms validity identify malingerers.
