摘要: Quantitative data on local variation in patterns of occurrence common carnivore species, such as the red fox, European badger, or martens central Europe are largely missing. We conducted a study focusing ecology and distribution cultural landscape with use modern technology. placed 73 automated infra-red camera traps into four different habitats differing water availability canopy cover (mixed forest, wetland, shrubby grassland floodplain forest) Polabi region near Prague, Czech Republic. Each habitat was represented by three spatially isolated sites within which were distributed. During year study, we recorded nine including non-native golden jackal. Habitats highest numbers records pooled across all species wetland (1279) (1014); fewer made mixed (876) forest (734). Habitat had significant effect number badger marten, marginally fox. In terms seasonal dynamics, there differences among seasons least weasel, did not differ for marten. summer, fox marten more active than expected chance during day, while pattern opposite winter when they night. Our findings preferences circadian activity provided first quantitative whose existence assumed basis conventional wisdom. demonstrates potential long-term monitoring approach based traps. Generally, rather frequent indicates that most thriving current central-European landscapes characterized human-driven disturbances urbanization.
