摘要: Fish reproductive biology plays an important role for fishery management, especially in developing countries. The aim of this study was to compile all available information and analyze reproduction patterns marine fishes three Large Marine Ecosystems (LMEs): North, East, South Brazil Shelves. We tested the hypothesis that onset duration spawning season differ among these LMEs; compared ratio between length at first maturity asymptotic with global trend observed; analyzed sex ratios; whether females allocate more energy into than males. following data were compiled from published sources ‘grey’ literature: ratio, season, gonadosomatic indices (GSI), (Lm). load estimated as Lm/L∞. median extension Shelves 6.5, 6.0 5.0 months, respectively, higher frequency during austral summer Brazil. LMEs can be grouped non-summer spawners. About ninety six percent cases 0.3 0.8, which is slightly shifted toward smaller values, range 0.4-0.9. Gonadosomatic higher. Contrary some expectations, there seasonality tropical fishes. However, stronger southern populations. Size not efficiently used a tool fisheries management ecosystems analyzed.
