摘要: Background Dysnatremia has been associated with sports activity, especially long-distance running and endurance sports. High fluid intake is hyponatremia. This study aims to evaluate dysnatremia risk factors in half-marathon runners under warm humid environmental conditions.  Methods A cross-sectional was performed among randomly selected the 2017 Cali half marathon. Runners on diuretic therapy or a known history of kidney disease were excluded. Participants went through 2-day assessment. Previous medical history, training body mass index and determined first Symptoms level consumption during race registered second assessment post-run blood sampling for serum [Na+] also undertaken.  Results 130 included study. The complete 81 participants (62%) that final analysis. No cases hyponatremia found; instead, there six asymptomatic hypernatremia (7.4%). had statistically significant association lower frequency (p=0.01) volume (water: p=0.02, Gatorade: p=0.04).  Conclusion Hyponatremia high races cool weather, such as Boston Marathon spring. In contrast, found marathon which intake, suggesting conditions, median 900 mL could prevent this event.
