Hydraulics and flow modelling of water treatment wetlands constructed on peatlands in Northern Finland.

摘要: Abstract In this study, we evaluated flow structure, effective area (Aeff) and porosity (θeff) in three peatlands using the stable isotope 18O/16O ratio tracer tests. We also applied readily available groundwater modelling MODFLOW code for wetland simulated one study site how hydraulic performance of will be improved by changing design distribution ditch. Preferential paths occurred all studied wetlands Aeff varied from 40% to 90% total while θeff was 0.75–0.99. Constructed models accurately head across (r2 = 0.95–0.99). Similarities between distributions observed suggest possibilities peatlands. The improvement inlet ditch configuration (ditch length/wetland width > 0.45) can prevent or reduce short-circuiting dead zones treating wastewater.
