摘要: Semimonthly peaks in courtship behavior of male crabs coincide with the temporal distribution receptive females. Females mate once each month, 4 to 5 days before one semimonthly spring tides. The relation time reproduction tide cycles may be an adaptation increase a maximum probability that final stage planktonic larvae will transported by tidal currents substrates suitable for adults.
