摘要: Using a long-term study of black-tailed prairie dogs (Cynomys ludovicianus), we asked whether subdivision subpopulation (colony) into social breeding groups (coteries) influenced gene dynamics. We measured dynamics with common statistical tools, F-statistics and effective population size (Ne), but at finer scale to account for coteries. used 2 methods estimating the subgroups, determined if these produced similar results that were congruent an empirical measure observed (NeO). Modified estimated from pre- postdispersal data pedigrees allozymes. Both indicated significant genetic substructuring colony coterie groups. The rate inbreeding individuals relative lineage lower than expected level. Inbreeding was consistent random mating. Asymptotic estimates varied substantially. Chesser’s method 77 (range 69‐90, pedigree) 86 70‐111, allozyme) NeO 76 previous instantaneous asymptotic (92.9). Nunney’s much approximately one-half NeO. Social subdivisions coteries clearly Only Chesser accounted structure introduced by genealogy, both polygynous mating matrilines philopatric females. This may prove important when loss variation in highly mammals.
