Practical lessons from global safe motherhood initiatives: time for a new focus on implementation

摘要: The time is right to shift the focus of global maternal health community challenges effective implementation services within districts. 20 years after launch Safe Motherhood Initiative, has reached a broad consensus about priority interventions, incorporated these interventions into national policy documents, and organised globally in coalition with newborn child communities. With changes processes emphasise country ownership, funding harmonisation, results-based financing, capacity countries implement urgently needs be strengthened. In this article, four initiatives draw on their complementary experiences identify set central lessons which build new, collaborative effort equitable, sustainable at scale. This should specific steps for strengthening district system convert inputs functioning that are accessible used by all segments population.
