摘要: Hypertension is a common chronic condition, but the burden of emergency department (ED) visits due to hypertension and associated patient hospital characteristics are not well described. The goals this study were (1) establish hypertension-related ED visits, estimated by total number, proportion adult population-based rate, (2) evaluate for change over time, (3) identify characteristics. Nationwide Emergency Department Sample from 2006 2012 was used (International Classification Diseases, Ninth Revision, Clinical Modification codes 401 405, inclusive, 437.2), linked US Census Bureau July population estimates determine rates each year. Negative binomial regression performed whether changed time. A 165,946,807 occurred during 7-year period (23.6% all visits), primary diagnosis 6,399,088 (0.9% visits). yearly incidence rate increased 5.2% per year (incident ratio, 1.052; 95% confidence interval, 1.044 1.061; p <0.001) 4.4% (incidence 1.044; 1.038 1.051; with hypertension. Over same hospitalized decreased at safety net hospitals among uninsured patients. In conclusion, these data indicate that increasing.
