摘要: Hip structural analysis (HSA) estimates geometrical and mechanical properties from hip dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) images is widely used in osteoporosis trials. This study compares HSA to volumetric quantitative computed tomography (QCT) measurements the same population. A total of 121 women (mean age 58 yr, mean body mass index 27 kg/m2) participated. Each woman received a QCT scan DXA left hip. scans were analyzed with in-house software that directly geometric parameters at neck trochanteric regions. was performed an implementation by GE/Lunar. Pair-wise linear regression variables conducted method site matched for bone density, cross-sectional area, moment inertia (CSMI) femur neck. correlated well (r2=0.67 mineral density [BMD] 0.5 CSMI) standard (r2=0.82 BMD). compared favorably, which supports validity projective technique such as derive proximal
