The aim was determine the prevalence of IBD and identify demographic clinical factors that influence fatigue. Methods: Patients remission with mild moderate completed Fatigue Questionnaire (FQ). Higher FQ scores indicate greater levels fatigue. In addition, variables were obtained. Corresponding data from healthy controls (HC) are based 2287 Norwegian citizens. Results: In total, 140 patients included, mean age 43.9 years (SD 16.4), male/female = 61/79, ulcerative colitis (UC) / Crohn's (CD) 92/48. Total (TF) 14.4, 14.7, 12.2 for UC, CD, HC, respectively. Chronic (CF), defined as substantial duration more than 6 months, reported 29% (14/48) CD 22% (20/92) UC compared 11% (260/2287) HC (P < 0.001 both diagnoses). Linear regression analysis confirmed hemoglobin values, present gastrointestinal symptoms, altered sleep be most important predictors CF. Conclusions: Chronic controls. patterns significant CF.
