摘要: Electronic cigarette (EC) use is gaining popularity as a substitute for conventional smoking due to the perception and evidence it represents safer alternative. In contrast common amongst users that ECs represent no risk initial studies have revealed complex composition of e-cigarette liquids. Conventional known factor developing bladder cancer prior reports raise concern some those causative compounds may exist in EC liquids or vapor. Urine samples were collected from 13 using subjects 10 non controls. Five carcinogens are either present cigarettes, products combustion, solvents believed be used formulations were quantified by liquid chromatography – mass spectrometry (LC-MS). Analysis user urine presence two carcinogenic compounds, o-toluidine 2-naphthylamine, at mean 2.3 1.3 fold higher concentration (p-value 0.0013 0.014 respectively). Many these (9/13) long term nonsmokers (>12 months). Further study needed clarify safety profile e-cigarettes their contribution development given greater aromatic amines users.
