Epidural analgesia for labour: maternal knowledge, preferences and informed consent.

摘要: Epidural analgesia has become increasingly popular as a form of labour in Ireland. However obtaining true inform consent always been difficult. Our study recruited 100 parturients who had undergone epidural for labour, aimed to determine the information they received prior regional analgesia, and ascertain their preferences regarding informed consent. Only 65 (65%) patients planned have an epidural. Knowledge potential complications was variable inaccurate, with less than 30 (30%) women aware most common complications. Most 79 (79%) believed that discomfort during affected ability provide consent, believe should be taken onset (96, 96%). The results this helps define standards Irish expect labour.
