摘要: Abstract Earlier laboratory work by the authors indicated satisfactory performance of glass powder (GLP) in concrete as a pozzolanic material. The was manufactured from mixed colour waste packaging comprising soda-lime glass. In order to investigate GLP under field conditions, trial conducted using 40 MPa mixture, incorporating various proportions (0%, 20%, and 30%) cement replacement. Ten mixture formulations, some which also included sand-size crushed aggregate particles, were used cast ten slabs (1.5 × 2.5 × 0.25 m). Cylinders prisms same batches at time casting for measurement compressive splitting tensile strength, flexural shrinkage, expansion, ultrasonic pulse velocity, volume permeable voids, chloride permeability. Core samples drilled ages tests (except flexural), well microstructural examination. Results showed that strength gain slower GLP-bearing up 28 days, but age 404 days all mixtures exceeded target achieved about 55 strength. Mixtures containing performed satisfactorily with respect drying shrinkage alkali reactivity, there indications reduces ion penetrability concrete, thereby reducing risk induced corrosion steel reinforcement concrete. results demonstrated can be incorporated into dosage rates 20–30% replace without harmful effects. use provides considerable value-added utilisation significant reductions production green house gases industry.
