摘要: Recent observational and theoretical results on starburst galaxies related to the wavelength regime below 1200A are discussed. The review covers stars, dust, as well hot cold gas. This region follows trends similar those seen at longer wavelengths, with several notable exceptions. Even youngest stellar populations show a turn-over in their spectral energy distributions, line-blanketing is much more pronounced. Furthermore, OVI line allows one probe gas higher temperatures than possible lines wavelengths. Molecular hydrogen (if detected) provide glimpse of phase. I cover crucial 912A, implications recent attempts detect escaping ionizing radiation.
