摘要: The paper represents a synthesis of the extensive literature on social comparison in young children. Several theorists are reviewed, whose writings provide conceptual framework for study comparison. Then, overviews research pertaining to following issues: What motivates children engage comparison? With whom do seek compare? At what age does appear? Does it follow developmental progression? effects upon subsequent behavior? Are there sex‐related differences activity? By way conclusion, practical implications teaching drawn.
