摘要: Exhaustion of a natural resource stock may be rational choice for an individual and/or community, even if sustainable use the is feasible and users are farsighted well informed on ecosystem. We identify conditions under which it optimal not to sustain use. These concern discounting future benefits, instability social system or ecosystem, nonconvexity growth function, socio-psychological value employment, strategic interaction among users. The identification these can help design policies prevent unsustainable patterns
