摘要: Abstract Mechanically gated "transduction" channels in inner ear hair cells are thought to be connected tip links stretched between adjacent stereocilia. To locate active channels, calcium-green fluorescence single stereocilia was measured with two-photon laser scanning microscopy. Bundle deflection increased many but not all stereocilia; the increase blocked by depolarization. The number of responding proportional transduction current, consistent Ca 2+ influx through channels. Fluorescence rose first tips and then bases, agreement channel localization at tips. Some shortest a bundle showed increase, as did some tallest, indicating that can either or both ends links.
