摘要: Summary Based on the orientation of osteons, basal portion and alveolar body human mandible can be distinguished. In compact bone, two types microporosities quantified, osteocyte lacunae vascular canals. Our aim was (i) to perform three-dimensional reconstruction suggest an efficient means sampling estimate their numerical density (ii) compare bone in portions ten mandibles. Using optical disector, we estimated lacunae, using a stereological point-counting technique, quantified area fraction The diameter 14 ± 3 μm. While canals comparable both parts mandible, higher ( p  = 0.007) (17056 ± 1264/mm 3 ) than (14522 ± 665/mm ). lacunar were statistically independent each other. As this is first counting discuss relation parameter biomechanics our data with previously used two-dimensional methods. We present method that useful for histological description microporosities. When taking into account spatial characteristics locally specific easily assessed method, which not biased by variation size lacunae.
