摘要: IT was first shown by Kyes and Potter1 that, during reproductive activity, the marrow cavities of bones female pigeons become filled with endosteal bone. It is thought that this medullary bone formed under synergistic action androgens œstrogens2 which are produced in bird breeding season. Similarly, injections œstrogens induce formation male birds. Medullary differs from cortical histologically3,4, it appears to act as a labile calcium store can be mobilized rapidly eggshell.
