摘要: Abstract A powerful and increasingly common method to mode-lock a variety of lasers is additive pulse mode-locking (APM). In this technique, nonlinear medium placed in an external cavity which coupled the main laser cavity. As result interference at mirror between pulses returning from each cavity, significant shortening may be obtained. Optical fiber often used as medium, polarization effects birefringence are generally neglected. computer model has been developed order simulate effect using birefringent fiber. The simulations indicate that although little qualitative on system, certain cases exploited for enhanced mode-locking.
