摘要: Cytoglobin (Cygb), a novel oxygen-binding protein, is expressed in the majority of tissues and has been proposed to function nitric oxide (NO) metabolism vasculature have cytoprotective properties. However, overall functions Cygb remain elusive. also subpopulation brain neurons. Recently, it shown that stress upregulates expression neuronal synthase (nNOS)-positive neurons, an enzyme produces NO, co-express Cygb. there are more neurons expressing than nNOS, thus large number uncharacterized by neurochemical content. The aim present study was provide additional detailed phenotype Cygb-expressing rat hippocampus. hippocampus chosen due abundance Cygb, as well this limbic structure being important target neurodegenerative diseases. Using triple immunohistochemistry, demonstrated nearly all parvalbumin- heme oxygenase 1-positive extent, these neuron populations distinct from population co-expressing nNOS. Furthermore, somastostatin vasoactive intestinal peptide Detailed information regarding can be valuable tool determining brain.
