摘要: Carnitine is a conditionally essential metabolite that plays critical role in cell physiology. necessary for fatty acid transport to sites of beta-oxidation the mitochondria, where it helps prevent organic accumulation. Because these key regulatory functions, carnitine represents crucial determinant mitochondrial energy metabolism, whose deficiency may lead metabolic and clinical disturbances. Loss through dialytic membranes occurs maintenance hemodialysis, resulting potential depletion relative increments esterified forms. supplementation has been shown counteract such alterations be associated with benefit. In particular, patients on hemodialysis enhance response erythropoietin, improved hematologic status. was also reported improve exercise tolerance intradialytic symptoms. insulin resistance, inflammatory antioxidant status, protein balance, lipid profile, cardiac function. administration can useful selected dialysis who do not adequately respond standard therapy.
