摘要: Abstract Background External shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) and percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL) have been the standard of care for treatment intrarenal calculi. Objective We sought to determine safety efficacy flexible ureteroscopy holmium laser multiple calculi further stratify by stone burden less than greater 20mm. Design, setting, participants Patients with unilateral renal treated between 2000 2006 at a single tertiary academic center were retrospectively evaluated. Intervention All patients underwent retrograde lithotripsy. Measurements Stone-free status was determined 15 d after last procedure defined as absence stones in kidney or residual fragments Results Limitations Fifty-one identified total 161 mean size per patient 6.6±3mm (range: 2–15). The number 3.1±1 2–6). primary procedures 1.4±0.6 1–3). overall stone-free rates one two 64.7% 92.2%, respectively. 20mm 85.1% 100%, complication rate 13.6%; 97.6% cases performed outpatient procedures. There are some limitations this study, however: This is retrospective review from institution, our results based on relatively small sample size. Conclusions For select calculi, may represent an alternative therapy ESWL PNL, acceptable low morbidity.
